1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how CG25 Ventures ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the YATO mobile application (the "App"), a dating and social discovery service. By creating an account and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
2. Eligibility
YATO is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. You must confirm that you are at least 18 during account setup. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account or use the App.
3. Information We Collect
To provide a dating service, the App collects and stores the following information:
- Account information: your email address and password (managed through Firebase Authentication). You may also sign in anonymously or as a guest.
- Profile information you provide: display name, age, gender/sex, who you are interested in, headline, bio, occupation, education, height, weight, relationship goals, interests, prompts, and optional links to third-party profiles (e.g., Instagram, X, TikTok, Spotify, Goodreads).
- Photos and videos: profile photos, banner images, and videos you upload.
- Location information: a location consent setting and a general location/region used to show nearby matches, order your discovery feed, and display distances. Location services are required for core matching and discovery features.
- Activity data: your likes, matches, compliments (and their acceptance status), and the content of chat messages, GIFs, and message reactions you send or receive.
- Device and app settings: preferences such as theme, notification, and display settings.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and profile.
- Show your profile to other users and show you other users' profiles in Search and Crystal Ball.
- Enable core features such as likes, matches, compliments, and chat.
- Personalize discovery based on your preferences (such as who you are looking for) and location.
- Maintain the safety and integrity of the App, including enforcing our Community Guidelines and responding to reports.
5. Information Visible to Other Users
Because YATO is a social dating app, certain information is shared with other users by design. Your profile details (such as your name, age, photos, headline, bio, and other profile fields you complete) are visible to other users in discovery, likes, compliments, and chat. Please only include information in your profile that you are comfortable sharing with others. Approximate distance may be shown to other users, but we do not share your precise address.
6. Local Data Storage
The App also stores some data locally on your device only, including:
- App preferences (theme, sound, display, and similar settings).
- "Remember me" information such as a saved email address for faster sign-in.
- Biometric sign-in credentials, when you enable biometric login, stored in your device's secure storage.
- Cached onboarding and consent flags (for example, whether you accepted the Community Guidelines and enabled location).
This local data can be cleared at any time by signing out, clearing the App's data in your device settings, or uninstalling the App.
7. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Google Firebase (by Google LLC), including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Storage, and Firebase Cloud Messaging, to authenticate users and to store and sync your account data, profile, media, and messages.
Your information is processed and stored on Google's infrastructure. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) for information about their data practices. The App does not use advertising networks, and does not sell your data to advertisers.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information only:
- With other users, as described in Section 5 (information you choose to include in your profile and communications).
- With service providers such as Google Firebase, solely to operate the App.
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or CG25 Ventures.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures, including access-control rules on our database and storage, to help protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the security of your device. We recommend keeping your device operating system and the App up to date, and enabling device security features.
10. Data Retention and Your Rights
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can review and update your profile information at any time from within the App. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below; deleting your account removes your profile, media, likes, matches, and messages associated with your account, subject to any retention required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
